Our Commitment
Compliance first. Humanity always. Trust in everything we do.
At Blue Conker, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to access support in a way that feels safe, respectful and appropriate to their individual needs.
Accessibility means more than physical access. It includes how we communicate, how we learn, how we process information and how welcome we feel to show up as ourselves.
We are committed to reducing barriers wherever reasonably possible and will always do our best to make our services as accessible and inclusive as we can.
1. OUR COMMITMENT
Blue Conker welcomes people from all backgrounds, identities and lived experiences.
We are committed to providing services that are inclusive, respectful and free from discrimination in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
Where reasonable and practical, we will make adjustments to help you access our services.
encourage you to let me know about any accessibility requirements before we begin working together so that we can discuss how best to support you.
2. PHYSICAL ACCESSIBILITY
2a. Many Blue Conker services are delivered from venues that we hire but do not own or manage.
Whilst we carefully consider accessibility when selecting venues, we cannot guarantee that every building will meet every individual's access requirements.
If you have specific mobility, access or environmental requirements, please let me know before booking wherever possible.
Where it is practical to do so, we will:
• discuss your individual requirements
• provide information about the venue in advance
• explore reasonable adjustments
• consider whether an alternative venue, room or online session would better meet your needs.
Where accessibility limitations exist that are outside of our control, we will always be open and honest about them.
2b. Home-Based Sessions
Most one-to-one sessions are offered in our Dojo from our home practice.
Whilst we strive to make this environment as welcoming and comfortable as possible, please note that the toilet facilities are not wheelchair accessible and may not meet the needs of everyone.
If this may affect your ability to attend, we encourage you to contact us before booking so that we can discuss your individual requirements.
Where it is reasonable and practical to do so, we may explore alternative arrangements, which could include:
• meeting online
• arranging a home visit
• meeting at an alternative accessible venue.
Any alternative arrangements will be considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account your needs, the nature of the service being provided and what is reasonably practicable at the time.
3. COMMUNICATION ACCESSIBILITY
Everyone processes information differently.
Where reasonably possible, we aim to communicate in ways that support understanding and reduce unnecessary barriers.
This may include:
• communicating by email where preferred
• providing information in plain English
• allowing additional processing time
• explaining unfamiliar language or terminology
• checking understanding where appropriate.
If there is another way we can support your communication needs, please let us know.
4. NEURODIVERSITY & SENSORY NEEDS
Blue Conker welcomes neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia and other neurodivergent experiences.
There is no expectation that everyone participates in the same way.
Where appropriate, you are welcome to:
• use fidget tools or comfort items
• take movement or comfort breaks
• choose not to participate in an exercise
• choose not to share personal experiences
• ask for clarification
• take additional time to process information
• let us know if adjustments would help you participate more comfortably.
Where sessions are delivered online, you are welcome to discuss any adjustments that may support your participation.
5. LGBTQ+ INCLUSION
Blue Conker is committed to providing an environment where everyone feels respected and valued. We welcome people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and relationship structures.
We aim to:
• use inclusive language
• respect names and pronouns
• avoid assumptions about identity, relationships or family structures
• create spaces where people can show up authentically without fear of judgement or discrimination.
If we make a mistake, we welcome respectful feedback so that we can learn and put it right.
6. EMOTIONAL ACCESSIBILITY
Many people come to Blue Conker having spent years masking, adapting or feeling that they never quite fitted in.
Our aim is to create environments where you do not feel pressure to perform, explain yourself or have all the answers.
You are encouraged to participate at your own pace.
You are always welcome to:
• ask questions
• pause an activity
• take a break
• revisit a conversation
• let me know if something is not working for you.
7. FINANCIAL ACCESSIBILITY
We recognise that one-to-one coaching may not be accessible to everyone.
Where possible, Blue Conker offers a range of services at different price points, including:
• Defrazzle Sessions
• Roots to Rise Walks
• Workshops and group programmes (means tested)
• Free newsletters
• Educational resources
• Free Positivity Challenge.
Our aim is to provide different ways for people to access support, learning and community.
8. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Accessibility is an ongoing process rather than a one-time achievement.
We regularly review our services, venues, communications and client feedback to identify opportunities to improve accessibility and reduce unnecessary barriers.
We welcome constructive feedback that helps us make Blue Conker more accessible and inclusive for everyone.
9. CONTACT
If you have any accessibility requirements, questions or would like to discuss reasonable adjustments before booking, please get in touch.
We will always do our best to work with you to explore practical solutions wherever reasonably possible.
